The best way to get something done, is to go to the people that make things happen. This coming Monday evening, Representative Lois Capps is doing just that. She's bringing religious leaders, labor organizers, and of course environmental activists together. VCCool is proud to be part of the amazing panel, as we discuss global warming local actions and national policy. This looks like a historic event not to be missed.

Ventura City Council Adopts Green Initiative

On Monday, November 5th, the Ventura City Council unanimously voted to adopt city staff's recommendation of a 2007 "Green Initiative." As part of the initiative, Mayor Carl Morehouse was given the authorization he needed to sign the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, which he has enthusiastically done.

Local organizations were well represented that evening in support of the initiative, including the Midtown Ventura Community Council, VCCool, the Sustainability Council of Ventura County, and many others.

Green Gift for the Holiday

The first sample bags have come in from the printer, and look fantastic. The Ventura Cloth Bags should be printed and in locally owned stores in time for you to have something very green and very special to give to friends and family for the holidays.

We'll let you know which local businesses will have the bags in stock in our next newsletter, and on the VCCool website. A percentage of the proceeds goes to support VCCool. If you are a locally owned business and want to stock Ventura Cloth Bags please let us know!
