Clean Energy Bill Now Goes the Senate Thank you everyone for letting your Representative know that you support the latest clean energy bill. The increase in miles per gallon to a requirement of 35 mpg just passed the House and heads for the Senate. For an excellent overview of the bill's benefits, check out the Natural Resource Defense Council's press release. Many of the environmental groups have posted petitions this week to let your Senators know that you want them to pass a clean energy bill now. Here is one by Audubon "The U.S. House of Representatives has just passed historic legislation. It would shift our national energy policy from relying on old, dirty energy sources like oil and coal to a new, clean energy future with more fuel efficient cars and electricity from renewable sources like solar and wind.
