Amazing Al Goes to the UN Thursday
Al Gore's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech is a must-see event.
This Thursday, December 13, he will be taking key ideas from that speech to the UN Climate Conference in Bali, for a global treaty to go in affect by 2010. By signing your name in support, you can lend your support to this action.
Clean Energy Bill Now Goes the Senate
Thank you everyone for letting your Representative know that you support the latest clean energy bill. The increase in miles per gallon to a requirement of 35 mpg just passed the House and heads for the Senate. For an excellent overview of the bill's benefits, check out the Natural Resource Defense Council's press release.
Many of the environmental groups have posted petitions this week to let your Senators know that you want them to pass a clean energy bill now. Here is one by Audubon

Stop Getting Unwanted Catalogs! Fa La La!
An alert VCCooler just shared this tip of an amazing user-friendly way to opt-out of getting unwanted catalogs. It's called Catalog Choice.
This free service is sponsored by: the Ecology Center. It is endorsed by the National Wildlife Federation and the NRDC.
For those of us who know the hassle of trying to get off these mailing lists, Catalog Choice is a piece of cake. Log in, skim through the huge selection of catalogs, click which ones you don't want, and type in your customer number if you have one. I just declined two catalogs, and am waiting to see how it works. Tis the season to save resources!
