VCCool Newsletter                                                                    June 25, 2010

Dear VCCoolers,

How do you feel about BP's Oil Spill? Have you signed the petitions against off-shore drilling? Did you watch the You Tube flicks: "BP Spills Coffee?" and the one where cats reenact the spill? Have you talked to friends, followed the news, seen the photos? So what can we do about it?

We at VCCool see a direct line between fossil fuel dependency, climate change, and the BP oil disaster. After all - if we had some other way to get around, BP wouldn't be diving four miles under the ocean to drill a mile into the earth to get more of the black goo.

VCCool has cooked up a little plan to make a real change here in Ventura, and we hope you join us!

Cool Travel Challenge for Clean Beaches
Be one in a hundred!

We are looking for 5 VCCooler Newsletter Readers to join our Executive Director Rachel Morris, in a challenge to cut car use in half for one month. For the first month, each Cool Traveler will track how many miles they typically drive. The second month participants will commit to cutting that base-line use in half! What creative ways can you come up with to cut the oil addiction?

VCCool currently has just over 550 readers. Be one in a hundred to take the Cool Travel Challenge!

Yes! I want to take the Cool Travel Challenge.

We will report in our next news letter how many subscribers signed up to take the Cool Travel Challenge, and let you know the latest status!

* Special thanks to Zeke Barlow of the Ventura Star for asking the right questions.
