Tell Your Story at EPA's SB-375 Workshop this Friday - Right Here in Ventura!
Redesigning Communities to Reduce Greenhouse Gases

Friday, July 23
9am to Noon
Ventura County Government Center,
Board Chambers (close up map )
800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009

California is setting targets for anti-sprawl to lower greenhouse gas emissions. The California Environmental Protection Agency wants to hear from YOU about how to do it! You don't have to be a climatologist to attend. They want to hear what you want it to look like in your neighborhood, to your business, at your child's school? They want to know how citizens feel about climate change. The last of seven statewide "Target Setting Public Workshops" is happening right here in Ventura at the Government Center this Friday.

YOU're the One - VCCool's Green Transit Challenge!

Don't like the BP oil spill and deep sea drilling? Let's do something about it!! Sign up for VCCool's Green Transit Challenge. Cutting oil consumption helps the climate while it protects our coast.

VCCool is looking for five people to take our two-month challenge. For one month you track your driving, and the next month - you cut your gas use in half, while sharing your experience with VCCoolers.

We only need one more sign-up for our goal of 5 participants, and we can start the project! Four people have already signed up to join VCCool's Executive Director - Rachel Morris. If you want to be our fifth, please e-mail your "YES" with your contact information.

We'll be tracking how people cut their use and if they can reduce by 50% for one month. This will be Ventura's reality show at its best! Take a personal stand and dump the pump!

Don't get Lassoed! (California Fights for Clean Energy)

We knew it would come sooner or later... This November, Texas Oil companies plan to kill AB-32, California's historic Global Warming Solution Act, and SB-375 our cutting edge anti-sprawl legislation. VCCool has never been an alarmist organization, so please believe us when we say - friends - this isn't the one to sit back on! We're going to need every person down to the smallest "Who" to be making noise about this deceptive, nasty bill bankrolled by outsider wallets. VCCool will be keeping you up to date on events, actions, and the latest status.

For now, educate yourself! Then print and distribute our flyer widely. There's not a moment to waste getting the word out! California economists, business people, environmentalists, health advocates, scientists, and leaders across the state are lining up to protect clean energy.
