Dear Global Warming Activists,
A lot is going on including a potluck for volunteers, our new name "VCCool," and even an inspiration event tonight - Little House on a Small Planet.
I hope 2007 is starting out to be a very empowering, fossil free year for you, and I hope to see you at some of the upcoming local events and actions.
Peace and Health ,
-Rachel of VCCool
After being "The citizens group working on global warming in the Ventura area, yada yada. " we finally have a name and our own web site. The name is VCCool which stands for "Ventura Climate Care Options Organized Locally." I know that's a mouth-full, but VCCool is easy.
VCCool is looking for a logo. If you have any ideas or comments, just drop us a note at action@vccool.org. If we use you're logo, we'll be sure to let everyone know it was yours. This is the last e-mailing coming from globalwarming@naturegirlband.org. After this message, please look for mail coming from GlobalWarming@vccool.org. You might need to add us to your spam filter address book to make sure you get our newsletters.
Also. Our new website is www.vccool.org

Want to get involved in local global-warming-busting projects? Well now's your chance. VCCool is putting on our first event since the Town Hall Meeting. It's a Sunday potluck where you have a chance to sign up for one of seven volunteer Planet Projects.
You'll get to hear seven people "stump" their planet-cooling ideas, and try to entice you to join their effort. There will be two 15 minute break-out sessions to give you time to get the details about the "Planet-Project" you're most interested in. Then, if one sounds right for you, you can sign up and get started!
We'd like to avoid mountains of disposable cups, forks, etc., so we're asking everyone to please bring your own utensils, plates, napkins, etc. We have a sink for washing, but no stove, oven, or refrigerator so please bring a dish that's ready to chow.
If your name starts with:
a-j bring a salad
k-r bring a hot dish
s-z bring a beverage, bread, desert, or some such thing.
(We'll have different areas for vegetarian and meat dishes, so don't worry.)
Josh at the Bell Arts Factory, for hosting Ventura's Planet Project Potluck!! That kind of community generosity is what makes real change possible.
Donna Lynn Caskey and Steve Lewis of Hill Ramblers for donating their wonderful music, and turning this into a party.

I know it's short notice, but it sounds really interesting and right on.
More information about "Little House on a Small Planet."
The second Organic Gardening Club event, January 13, drew about 25 people to hear LotusLand - Corey Welles' amazing presentation on compost tea--why he uses it, how to make it, and how it has benefited the plant, soil, and general ecology of Lotusland. He discussed fungi, protozoa, bacteria, nematodes and other such esoterica and how these creatures combined in different ratios are essential for healthy plants. He also discussed the process and equipment needed to produce the tea even for home gardeners.
If you'd like to join the Organic Garden Club, drop a note to Margaret Morris.
